Built in wall aquarium in Greater Manchester

A 1500 litre custom built in wall aquarium containing a wide variety of tropical fish and live plants.

Client Brief

To work with client’s architect and design a custom shaped aquarium that would be located in a chimney breast and viewed from the kitchen and living room.

Because of the complex shape of the tank design, the aquarium required building on-site. All filtration is hidden from view within a purpose built metal support frame. This is clad in Oak panels to match existing décor. The main feature of the tanks décor is constructed from large pieces of bogwood surrounded by live plants. The aquarium is stocked with community tropical fish and live plants.

This bespoke aquarium design incorporates an automatic water change system and plant fertiliser dosing unit. This vastly reduces fish tank maintenance and keeps water parameters stable
