Our Acrylic Aquariums go to Kuwait

Two acrylic aquariums ready to be shipped to the Cultural Center in Kuwait City.

Our aquariums will form part of a replica display of an experiment carried out on the International Space Station. For this project, the acrylic tanks were over-engineered as they would be for use in a public environment. We also supplied filtration systems and lighting for the tanks.

Acrylic is an ideal material to build large and/or public environment aquariums from. It’s stronger than glass which makes it very safe. However, it is more expensive than glass and so glass is still the preferred choice for home aquariums.

Custom Aquarium Decorations

We are pleased to announce that we can now design and build custom aquarium decorations. Made from fish safe acrylic, our bespoke fish tank decorations are a cool way of customising your aquarium.

Here are some we supplied to Inspired Energy Plc to give their aquarium an ‘energy’ theme. Electrical pylons and wind turbines perfectly suited their core business whilst adding a bit of fun factor to their tank.

Cleaning a Large Custom Aquarium in Leeds

Our first job of the week. Cleaning this large custom aquarium at a school in Leeds. This is an acrylic fish tank which makes it extremely tough and robust.

However, even though acrylic is more durable than glass, it is also softer than glass. This downside means it can be prone to scratching easily if not cleaned with the correct techniques.
We clean all our acrylic tanks with algae magnets, sponges and pads which are designed for use on acrylic. These are usually made of a softer material. Its recommended that you rinse your cleaning magnet/pad regularly whilst performing cleaning as even a build up of algae may cause light scratching.

For taking time and care of cleaning your acrylic tank, is the reward of seeing it sparkle with transparency that glass cannot replicate.

Small acrylic tanks are more costly than similar sized glass tanks. With larger acrylic tanks sometimes being more cost effective.
